Professional Background
Dr. Yiqing (Shirley) Butler-Xu is a radiation oncologist who utilizes leading-edge technology to provide treatments for patients with cancer, as well as certain nononcologic medical conditions. She possesses expertise in the latest techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy. Dr. Butler-Xu is deeply committed to delivering patient-centered and comprehensive care to all her patients. Dr. Butler-Xu graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. She pursued medical school at Wayne State University with a strong desire to make a more direct impact on people's lives. Subsequently, she completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Butler-Xu is passionate about the field of radiation oncology because it seamlessly combines the two aspects of healthcare that she holds most dear: providing comprehensive and compassionate patient care and working with constantly evolving medical technology.
