Research

Overview

My focus areas for research have centered around Liver and Pancreas cancers and diseases as well as Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer. I have made a commitment to remain active in clinical research and have set a goal of submitting abstracts to the two largest national GI meetings (ACG and DDW) every year along with regularly publishing results from research related activities. I have worked closely with Internal Medicine residents as well as medical students to help them develop research skills and conduct research projects and presentations. We have been very successful on several projects in having projects accepted for presentation at national meetings and receiving recognition for the quality of abstracts and work presented. I have focused my publications on gastroenterology topics since completing fellowship training in GI/Hepatology but previously had worked on a variety of topics within general Internal Medicine.
