Professional Background

Vernita Hairston, M.D., joined the faculty of the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2013 as a clinical assistant professor.

Dr. Hairston received her medical degree from the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore and completed a residency in neurology at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, she finished fellowships in neuromuscular medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and in neurorehabilitation at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Hairston is board certified by the Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology in neurology and spinal cord medicine.
