Professional Background

Dr. Langner is currently Division Director of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Associate Director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Team at the University of Kansas . He was previously a staff physician on the Critical Care Transport and a clinical fellow in the Department of Critical Care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He completed a pediatric residency at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his medical and undergraduate degrees from the University of Kansas. He has been an active member in the medical ethics community for almost a decade, serving on multiple hospital committees and as a consultant for an international consortium. His research interests aim to discover novel biomarkers to help aid in the early identification of sepsis. In addition to his clinical and research interests, Dr. Langner has developed medical devices to help advance the delivery of medicine and patient safety.
