Professional Background

Dr. Dean is a Clinical Instructor in Internal Medicine at The University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita (UKSM-W). He completed his medical residency in Internal Medicine UKSM-W as well as a 3rd-year chief resident position. He obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from ATSU Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. His undergraduate studies were conducted at Brigham Young University. His primary role will be as a hybrid hospitalist and clinic supervisory attending within the Internal Medicine Department. He also will serve as the Neurology Clerkship Co-Director.

Overview

Dr. Dean's research interests include designing, implementing, and continuing quality assessment of artificial intelligence systems in medicine. He is also interested in the automation and improvement of medicine through technology. His past research includes facial analysis and BMI, automated order set generation, EMR informatics, internet of things device creation, and data science in medicine.
