Tara Pixley, Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant professor in the department of Internal Medicine and the Section Leader of Integrated Behavioral Health in the division of General and Hospital Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
The Integrated Behavioral Health Section of Primary Care in the Department of Internal Medicine (IBH) strives to provide the highest quality patient-centered care by recognizing that both medical and behavioral health factors are important parts of a person’s overall health. Medical and behavioral health clinicians work together as a team to address a patient’s concerns. The advantage is better coordination and communication, while working toward one set of overall health goals.
