Professional Background

Sarah Agee is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She teaches courses in the traditional undergraduate BSN program. For some of the past 12 years, her nursing career has focused on Neurology. Previously she worked as a floor nurse at the University of Kansas Hospital Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ear Nose and Throat progressive care unit. She also worked in various medical, telemetry, observational unit, and community hospital settings throughout her travel nursing and rural health experiences. These roles provided opportunities for growth and personal career growth. She has practiced nursing in Florida, Missouri, Kansas, and Texas.

Dr. Agee currently works in advanced practice settings and specializes in podiatry and psychiatric care.

Research

Overview

Dr. Agee holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in Family practice in May of 2022, a Health Professions Educator Certificate in May 2021, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Washburn University School of Nursing in 2012.

Dr. Agee’s DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) project focused on creating and providing a Mental wellness toolkit to Community Health Workers in Wyandotte County and evaluating the use and effectiveness of the education provided to community health workers. She co-teaches/facilitates, Health and Illness: Nursing with Diverse Populations: NURS 475, Population Health Local to Global: NURS 486 and Population Health: Local to Global: NURS 485 course and Population Health Global to Local 486, and Leadership in Population Health Practicum: NURS 480 and she was previously clinical faculty in Health and Illness practicums at junior and senior levels.
