Professional Background

Dr Sivamurthy is an associate professor in the department of pediatrics.
He graduated from M S Ramaiah medical school, Bangalore, India in 2000 and was awarded an MB BS degree. He pursued his postgraduate training in pediatrics and was awarded a Diploma in Child Health from Mangalore University, India in 2002. Following this, he moved to the United Kingdom and worked firstly as a senior house officer and then eventually has a pediatric registrar after being awarded board certification in the form of a membership in the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2006. He then moved to the United States where he completed his residency in pediatrics in 2011 at the University of Kansas school of medicine. He attained board certification in pediatrics in 2012. He has been on faculty with the KU school of medicine since graduation. Along the way, he worked in genetics, led the PKU clinic, and worked as a newborn/ special care hospitalist. Presently, he focuses his attention on outpatient pediatrics and his passion is the care of medically complex children. He is the medical director of the multidisciplinary 'Medical Complexity Clinic'. He also leads the pediatric asthma clinic. His primary pediatric practice too reflects his interest in medically complex children and asthma.
