Associate Professor
ssheldon@kumc.eduProfessional Background
Dr. Seth Sheldon is an Associate Professor and electrophysiology (EP) cardiologist at the University of Kansas Medical Center (The University of Kansas Health System). He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He finished an Electrophysiology Fellowship at the University of Michigan in 2016 and was an attending there before returning to TUKHS. He won several awards during training including the Outstanding Achievement Award during residency (faculty selected award for achievement in patient care, research, and education) and the "Golden Pacemaker Award" (Fellow of the Year).
Dr. Sheldon enjoys the breadth of EP practice. He has clinical expertise in:
-Atrial fibrillation ablation (including pulsed field ablation/PFA, radiofrequency/RF and cryoballoon -- in addition to participating in ongoing research in ablation delivery systems)
-Complex ventricular arrhythmia ablation (PVCs and VT)
-Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) ablation
-Device extraction (Laser and Mechanical removal)
-Device implantation (pacemakers, defibrillators/ICDs, cardiac resynchronization devices/CRTs, and implantable loop recorders)
-Inherited arrhythmia syndromes (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Long QT, Brugada, Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy/ARVC, etc)
