Sidra Raza, MD, FACP

Assistant Professor, General & Hospital Medicine
Professional Background
I strongly believe that good doctors are bred at the bedside. I prefer teaching students in the clinical context of a patient scenario as studies have shown improved content retention in that situation. I also enjoy teaching clinical skills and bedside manners. I firmly support involvement and nurturing a Residents as Teachers curriculum which enables future doctors to continue our mission.
Whereas the focus on my career has been clinical care, I do believe that doctors have a bigger responsibility to their communities. I have applied and been appointed as a representative on the Medicare Contractor Advisory Committee as that will allow me to lend my voice to a platform that can affect change. I am passionate about encouraging coverage policies that our patients can benefit from, and to this end, the voice of clinical physicians is of utmost importance. I have also encouraged and enabled other members of the ACP Kansas chapter in seeking their fellowships.
