Professional Background
Shelby Nix, M.D. received her Doctor of Medicine from Texas A/M College of Medicine and proceeded to complete her psychiatry residency at KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
Dr. Nix has an interest in interventional psychiatry and will be the attending for the KU electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) inpatient and outpatient services in July. During her residency, Dr. Nix received additional training on ECT and from the International Society for ECT and Neurostimulation.
Dr. Nix will also supervise residents on KU Adult Psychiatry service in Ascension Via Christi and in the KU Psychiatry andamp; Behavioral Sciences clinic. She will continue to provide education and mentoring to medical students and residents.
