Professional Background

Dr. Hamed Dehkordi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He earned his MD from Hamadan University of Medical Sciences in Iran and initially served as director of a rural medical center in an underserved community. After moving to the U.S., he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he also served as chief fellow. Dr. Dehkordi is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine. He is also board certified in adult echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and cardiovascular computed tomography.

Dr. Dehkordi is a member of the cardio-oncology team at the University of Kansas Medical Center. His clinical interests focus on multimodality cardiovascular imaging and its applications in cardio-oncology and general cardiovascular medicine. His research interests include outcome research in cardio-oncology, cardiomyopathies, atrial fibrillation, infective endocarditis, and healthcare disparities.
