Professional Background

After completing her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Dr. Shalina Gupta-Burt completed her Internal Medicine Residency including her Chief Residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Dr. Gupta-Burt went on to complete a Biotechnology Fellowship at the National Cancer institute in Bethesda, MD, followed by a combined Medical and Radiation Oncology Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Gupta-Burt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. Dr. Gupta-Burt is board certified in Radiation Oncology, Hospice and Palliative Care through the ABR as well as Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine through the ABIM. She held dual faculty positions in both Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. During her tenure at Rush, she was appointed as an Associate Professor and was the Program Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program.

Research

Overview

Dr. Gupta-Burt is a frequently requested speaker for tumor genomic profiling and has delivered more than 100 lectures nationally over the last several years. She has previously served on multiple cooperative trial committees as well as being a member of several national societies. Dr. Gupta-Burt is currently the Medical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Comprehensive Cancer Center in Topeka under the partnership between The University of Kansas Health System and Ardent Health.
