Professional Background
Dr. Shauna Gibbons is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in the Palliative Medicine Division. She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency and Palliative Medicine fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She practices inpatient palliative medicine and developed a specialty outpatient palliative clinic focusing on ALS and Parkinson's Disease. In addition to her clinical work she is a Core Faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Her interests include medical education, structural competency, medical history, and cross-cultural communication in the setting of palliative medicine.
