Research
Overview
Research Focus: Neuroplasticity in recovery of function after injury. Preclinical models of brain and spinal cord injury.
Research Interests: We are interested in the underlying mechanisms of recovery that can be used in the development of therapeutic interventions in treatment of neurologic injury. A current goal is to identify intact pathways that may be suitably targeted for therapeutic intervention after spinal cord injury. We are studying the use of activity dependent stimulation to strengthen intact connections of the brain to spinal motor neurons below the level of injury.
