The Office of Grants and Research supports nursing faculty researchers and provides core resources.
At the KU School of Nursing, discovering new knowledge for nursing and health care practice is critical to our mission. The Office of Grants and Research (OGR) coordinates these efforts on behalf of School of Nursing faculty researchers as they work to further our reach in innovative science and nursing practice within health care delivery.
OFFICE OF GRANTS AND RESEARCH STAFF
The OGR provides core resources in the pre- and post-award stages of research in an environment that encourages discovery and collaboration.
Pre-award services include:
- Identification of funding opportunities
- Budget development
- Proposal development and processing
- Biosketch development and maintenance
- Peer review of proposals
Post-award services include:
- Award set-up
- Staff recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
- Purchasing
- Financial reconciliations and budget monitoring
- Effort and cost share commitment tracking
- Payroll confirmation
- Progress report assistance
- Award modifications
Other services include:
- Data dissemination (presentation, poster, manuscript assistance)
- REDCap survey creation
- Data collection/analysis
- Research space assignment and management within the School
- Graduate research assistant management
- Research faculty mentorship
- Advocacy of research faculty interests
- Promotion of nursing research
