Due to low enrollment in the University of Kansas RN to BSN program, we have paused admission for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are evaluating the future of this program and exploring options, which include reimagining the possibilities and opportunities contained within a post-licensure BSN pathway. Outstanding programs: The School of Nursing, which began in 1905 and is located on the campus of the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., dedicates expertise and resources toward building healthy communities and advancing the nursing profession through practice, research and education. It has built an international reputation for outstanding academic programs and as a place for innovative research.
Student-centered environment: The School of Nursing provides a resource-filled and student-centered environment for every level of a nurse's career, offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees as well as continuing education programs, accelerated curriculum, online classes and an RN to BSN option for registered nurses interested in pursuing advanced degrees. It's the only university in the region to offer a Ph.D. in nursing.
Accomplished faculty and researchers: Students have access to faculty members who also practice and to accomplished nursing researchers. They learn in real-life simulations in the school's state-of-the-art simulation skills laboratory and alongside other future health care professionals through the Center for Interprofessional Education and Simulation at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Strong research: School of Nursing students and faculty contribute to a growing portfolio of science that informs the clinical interventions at the heart of nursing practice. Ranked No. 21 in the National Institutes of Health-funded public nursing schools nationwide, the School of Nursing alumni and faculty are among the field's most accomplished leaders.
