Learn about the Post-Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice Leadership Major.
The post-master's Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is designed for nurses with a master's degree in a nursing specialty area who are ready to take the next step as a leader in the profession. Three Leadership emphasis areas build on the master’s program foundation to expand the breadth and depth of nursing practice.
Appropriate preparation for the Post-Master's DNP Leadership Major includes a master's degree in Nursing Leadership (Administration), Health Informatics or Public/Population Health Nursing.
The curriculum requires a minimum of 32 credit hours. Two courses meet on the KU Medical Center campus for one week in early June: NRSG 935 to begin the program and NRSG 954 in year 2. All other required courses are offered online.
