Why Choose KU
Our students learn from the best, and graduates are work-ready for all health care environments.
Designated a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing (NLN), the KU School of Nursing remains the only school in the region to be recognized by the NLN for its commitment to innovation and excellence in the education of nurses.
Students learn in an academic environment that ensures access to top-notch faculty, state-of-the-art technology and clinical experiences in diverse practice settings.
Students at our Kansas City and Salina campuses enjoy an active learning classroom environment that engages through hands-on and in-class group work. Our Honors Program offers more ways to further enhance your educational opportunities.
You'll also find an emphasis on international learning through coursework focused on global health care systems and international clinical opportunities. International clinicals are usually offered in the winter and summer breaks. To learn more, visit the Office of International Programs site.
Close proximity to our hospitals means you'll have more opportunities to learn as a nursing student. Students at our Kansas City campus will complete most clinicals at The University of Kansas Health System, which is part of the Kansas City campus.
At our Salina campus, students will complete most of their clinicals at Salina Regional Health Center, located only a few blocks away from campus.
Students have the opportunity to complete clinicals at a multitude of sites around the Kansas City area and the state, offering quality training and convenience.
