School of Medicine Faculty Governance

The School of Medicine has a collaborative governance structure, designed to promote partnership between faculty and administration in conducting the school's business.

Faculty Governance Bylaws

12.11.25 - A ballot was emailed to all eligible SOM faculty to vote via a REDCap survey on the proposed changes to the SOM Faculty Bylaws. Voting will close on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 5:00pm. If you did not receive a ballot on December 11, contact Elizabeth Harner for assistance.

11.18.25 - Changes have been proposed to the School of Medicine Faculty Bylaws passed. The changes include:

  • Updating outdated titles and responsibilities
  • Revise the structure of the Appointments, Promotion and Tenure (APT) Committee. 

All SOM Faculty have the opportunity to provide feedback and comments on these proposed changes via a REDCap survey. An invitation to complete this survey was sent to SOM faculty on November 18, 2025. A presentation of the changes will be made at the December 10, 2025 Faculty Council meeting and a ballot for voting will be emailed to SOM faculty the following day.

11/20/2024 - School of Medicine Faculty Bylaws Change Proposal - The vote on the proposed changes passed.
