Clinical Interest: My daily work involves the histopathologic evaluation of various brain lesions, genitourinary specimens and head & neck pathology. I also receive neuropathology consults and cases from rural areas in Kansas and Missouri. I am responsible for part of the autopsy service and evaluate the majority of the medical brain autopsy cases.

Educational Responsibilities: I am responsible for the education of our pathology residents and teach them relevant neuroanatomy and neuropathology. I am also responsible for teaching the neurology and neurosurgery residents and take great pride in their understanding of how neuropathology complements their professions.

Research Interests: I am interested in brain neoplasms (particularly glial neoplasms) and the expression of various proteins in determining tumor behavior and prognosis. Current projects include the immunohistochemical study of the tumor-initiating markers CD133, SOX2, Nestin and FOXO3 in glial tumors and neonatal brains.
