Application Process

Application Deadline: October 1, 2021

The University of Kansas Department of OB/GYN is following the CREOG/APGO specialty-wide standards for the residency application and interview process. Interviews will be conducted virtually for the 2021 season.  

The University of Kansas participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service. Applications are accepted by electronic filing only.

The ERAS post office is contacted daily to scan for new applications to review. Invitations are sent to the applicants via ERAS email with dates available for interviews. The interviews are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.. 

All application materials must be submitted by the deadline of October 1, 2021. Interview invitations will be issued on October 19, 2021.

  • MyERAS common application and CV*
  • Personal statement*
  • USMLE Step I results*
    • USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge results will be required for ranking
  • Medical school transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a member of your medical school's obstetrics and gynecology department
    • One letter of recommendation required for review of application*
  • MSPE Letter

*Denotes items that must be received before an application will be reviewed

Applicants are reviewed based on academic record, professional background, personal qualities, recommendations, and interviews. The rank list is reviewed in a meeting that includes faculty and present housestaff prior to its submission to the NRMP.Invitations are extended via email. Candidates selected for interviews will have an opportunity to meet with faculty and residents on their interview day. 2020 interviews will be conducted electronically to comply with recommendations from CREOG.
