Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program

The Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship is designed to prepare skilled sub-specialists for careers in clinical and academic gynecologic oncology. This ACGME accredited three-year program provides structured learning, robust clinical services, and research opportunities to develop highly competent and compassionate specialists to care for women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers and to become clinical and academic leaders in the field of gynecologic oncology.

The KU Cancer Center is the only NCI-designated cancer center in the region and is a major referral center.  Our program recently increased from two to four and will see increasing case volumes for simple hysterectomy, surgical treatment of cervical and ovarian cancer, intestinal surgeries, exenteration, vulvar resction, vaginal resection, etc.

This fellowship collaborates closely with faculty in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Palliative Care, Surgical Oncology, Colorectal Surgery, Urology, Plastics Surgery, and Breast Surgery. As a result, gynecologic oncology fellows will be trained in multi-disciplinary approaches to care for women diagnosed with gynecologic malignancies.
