My research interests include Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and associated insulin-resistance, diminished ovarian reserve, recurrent pregnancy loss, effects of supplements/over-the-counter products on reproductive function, and assisted reproduction. I have previously studied the effect of chromium picolinate, a safe dietary hexavalent form of chromium, on insulin sensitivity in obese PCOS patients with insulin resistance. I utilized a high dose regimen of chromium picolinate, based upon studies in diabetic patients, and assessed glucose disposal rate via euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp both before and after administering 3 months of chromium picolinate. I have also comparatively assessed Homeostatic Model Assessment (HOMA) in comparison to glucose/insulin ratio in PCOS. I have also previously investigated the use of high dose folate in recurrent pregnancy loss patients with normal homocysteine levels and Methyltetrahydrofolate Reductase Mutation.
