Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutics
The mission of the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutic (HMCT) in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center is to provide compassionate and state-of-the-art medical care to patients with malignancies and hematologic disorders. We are committed to patient care, education and research to accomplish our mission.
Patient Care: Meeting and exceeding expectations of our patients' care is extremely important. We strive for the best possible care for patients. The Division formed "Cancer Site Specific Teams" to develop comprehensive quality cancer care service from screening to survivorship for patients with cancer.
Education: The Division is committed to providing the highest quality training for Hematology and Oncology fellows, house staff and medical students. Many of our faculty are recognized and have received various awards for outstanding teaching. The Division promotes professional development to ensure our physicians and staff are up to date on the latest agents, cutting-edge treatments and technologies.
Research: The HMCT Divsion supports and facilitates groundbreaking research for new treatments and cures. Our researchers are nationally and internationally known for their areas of expertise. Our research studies include both basic science research and physician-investigator clinical trials.
