The University of Kansas Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery fellowship program accepts one resident per year to our three-year ACGME-approved program that leads to board eligibility. This progressive, high-volume training curriculum provides intensive exposure to all facets of cardiothoracic surgery, including robotic mitral valve repair and hybrid cardiac revascularization, heart failure and ECMO, catheter-based skills including TEVAR and percutaneous aortic and pulmonary valve replacement within our state-of-the-art hybrid room, VATS and robotic lobectomy, and minimally invasive esophagectomy procedures. The aforementioned services, in conjunction with physician extenders allow the program to deliver world-class patient care without sacrificing the human needs of trainees or patients.
