The MPA employs over 80 people who provide care to our patients, assist with research, and provide administrative, clerical and accounting support.

Every job in our organization is important and each employee plays a key role in achieving the mission of the MPA. The success of the MPA is based on our outstanding physicians, other providers and staff who provide excellent patient care and unsurpassed customer service. How do we do it? Lead Counselor (After School Program) (2 positions available)
The BREATHE Program Lead Counselor position is for the KU After School Program BREATHE, an evidence-based therapeutic summer day camp for children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The Lead Counselor will provide a fun and engaging experience for children and implement behavioral treatment protocols in accordance with the BREATHE manual. The lead counselor will oversee the duties of counselors and communicate regularly with program directors regarding group progress and concerns. Bachelor’s degree, training in a social science or education field preferred.

Counselor (After School Program) (8 positions available)
The BREATHE Program Counselor position is for the KU After School Program BREATHE, an evidence-based therapeutic program for children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The Counselor will provide a fun and engaging experience for children and implement behavioral treatment protocols in accordance with the BREATHE manual. Counselors will implement an extensive positive and negative behavior modification treatment program including feedback and associated consequences, daily and weekly rewards, social praise and attention, appropriate commands, and removal from positive reinforcement. High school graduate or equivalent with one year of college coursework in a social science or education field required.

Medical Assistant IM (CHC)
Needing experienced full-time Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to support busy outpatient adult internal medicine clinics. Current national agency certification in Medical Assisting is a mandatory requirement. Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment necessary. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a health care clinic setting required. Prior EMR and Microsoft Office required.

Medical Case Manager Assistant / Lost to Care Coordinator (Midtown Ryan White)
Full-time Case Manager Assistant needed to support HIV program team. Identify, seek out and re-engage HIV positive patients who are lost to care. Assist case managers to meet patient needs. Crucial data entry in case management database and EMR systems. Works in conjunction with entire HIV clinical staff funded by Ryan White grants. Must adhere to all Ryan White specific regulations. Associate's degree with minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in health or human service required. Microsoft Office, basic database management, effective interpersonal relationship/cultural communication skills and strong social service orientation required. Background in crisis intervention and substance abuse intervention required. Prior knowledge of HIV/AIDS required.

Functional Medicine Advanced Practice Provider
The functional medicine advanced practice provider works under the direct supervision of the faculty physician and takes a comprehensive approach to health care by incorporating traditional medicine, mindfulness and preventive techniques. Focusing on each patient and their environment as a whole, involve patients in their health care decisions and teach patients to optimize their overall health and well-being. This position will work alongside other health care professionals to deliver quality patient care. Education: APRN – BSN, MSN, or DNP; PA – BS and Master Physician Assistant Degree (MPA). Functional Medicine Certification – Must complete additional educational requirements and earn a certification in Functional Medicine within three years of employment.

Health Informatics Manager
Immediate need for full-time HIM to provide oversight for all internal functions related to data collection, manipulation, storage, archiving and retrieval from EMR. Responsible for project supervision and recommendations during EMR implementation and creating a formal training plan for physicians, staff and medical students. Will maintain and foster open lines of communication with internal and external customers. HIM must hold a bachelor’s degree with major concentration in information systems, business or technical field; master’s degree a plus.

Receptionist – IM/GI CHC
Needing a full-time receptionist who will be the first point of contact for patient arriving at the Center of Health Care Clinic and for patients calling in. The receptionist will be responsible for all check-in and check-out processes of patients. This position will schedule all in-house appointments, tests and procedures for patients in office and over the phone. High school graduate or GED required; one to two years clinic receptionist experience preferred.

Medical Assistant/Receptionist (Psychiatry)
Immediate need for full-time Medical Assistant/Receptionist for outpatient Psychiatry clinic. Knowledge of insurance, outpatient scheduling, medical terminology and medical assistant job responsibilities. Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience mental health and medication management preferred. Medical Assisting certificate required. Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced environment necessary.
