Having a newborn is one of the most exciting times for a family, and all parents want the best care possible for their new baby. Our mission is to provide newborns and their families with the highest quality personal care that enables them to set the foundation for healthy bonding, growth, and development. We assist with choosing a primary care physician, follow-up appointments, and access to specialized care if needed.

Our physicians care for newborns in the Birth Care Center, Well Newborn, and Special Care Nursery areas of Wesley Medical Center. We care for more than 2,300 newborns each year at the largest delivery center in Kansas.

Physicians at KU Wichita Pediatrics are active in research and quality improvement areas including breastfeeding, hypoglycemia, preterm births, newborn screening, infant mortality, and SIDS. We are also dedicated to educating resident physicians and medical students at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
