Combined Adult & Child Psychiatry Track

The Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita offers a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Track.
Each year, we will designate two positions that will complete adult psychiatry training with enhanced pediatric exposure in three years and then transition to our Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program for the remaining two years of training.
These resident physicians bypass an additional application cycle for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowships and reduce their training requirements by one full year. Additionally, these residents enjoy greater opportunities for longitudinal patient relationships and stability in their personal lives, avoiding the need to move for fellowship.
