Why did you choose KU-Wichita Addiction Medicine? 
When I heard that a new Addiction Medicine Fellowship was starting in Wichita I was excited to participate both because of the great faculty I knew that were involved in the program and because it provided a natural continuity in a community I was familiar with. Since it was a new program, I was also excited to participate in forming it for future fellows. During residency I found myself gravitating towards patients struggling with various addictions. I also noted how prevalent addiction was among the patients I treated in clinic, the hospital and OB floor, and found myself wanting but feeling unequipped to do more to address their underlying needs. For this reason, I decided to pursue Addiction Medicine to gain a better understanding of addiction and how to treat people struggling with this disease.

What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy dancing, both playing and listening to music, cooking for friends, reading, outdoor activities especially frisbee and traveling whenever I get the chance.

Who is your hero and why?
St. Doctor Giuseppe Moscati who is great example of a physician who practiced his craft with excellence and charity devoting himself to care of the poor as well as teaching new generations.

What is your favorite thing about Wichita?
The community and people here are great. For the last few years it has been a great second home for me and I am grateful for all the friendships that I have formed here. As a Catholic, it has a great diocese where I have been able to remain connected and grow in my faith during medical training.
