We are currently accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. Qualified applicants must complete the application form (see Apply Now button below) and submit the following documents to ssmall2@kumc.edu:

• Personal statement: Outline medical education, previous residency and reason for leaving, gaps in medical education/training, volunteer/clinical activities which illustrate continued engagement in the medical profession, expectations/intentions for joining the fellowship.
• Curriculum vitae
• Medical school: Transcripts, MSPE, diploma
• USMLE/COMLEX report: Most recent
• Recent headshot
• Three letters of recommendation

Our program participates in the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Below is a list of required application materials for the standardized ERAS application:

• Complete application
• Photo taken within the past six months
• Dean’s letter from your medical school
• Copy of your medical school transcript
• Three letters of reference, prepared within the last six months
• Current curriculum vitae prepared within three months of application
• Personal statement
• COMLEX or USMLE transcripts

In addition to the above items, international applicants are required to:

• Hold or be eligible for a J-1 Visa
• Provide proof of verbal proficiency in the English language
• Hold a currently valid ECFMG certificate
