Ambulatory Pediatrics Research

KU Wichita Pediatrics strives to improve care for children. We work to develop and share knowledge through innovative research and engaging quality improvement projects. Highlights of past activities are listed below:

Research

  • Testing the use of text messaging immunization reminders
  • Using tools and events to promote safe sleep in infants
  • Exploring mothers' ideas about birth spacing
  • Understanding personality types among children with ADHD
  • Improving the handoff of care as youth with special health care needs grow into adulthood
  • Assessing parents' plans to use the patient portal
  • Measuring visit length for pediatric patients

  • Decreasing time for bilirubin lab results

  • Project RedDE - Reduced Diagnostic Errors for adolescent depression screening and for missed actionable labs. Multicenter national collaborative through the AAP.
