Scholarly Activity

At KU School of Medicine-Wichita, we strongly believe that scholarly activity is a vital component in achieving excellence in resident training and patient care. That's why residents of our program are required to complete at least one scholarly activity project that meets the institutional criteria for research or quality improvement during their tenure. To ensure they gain valuable experience in conducting research and quality improvement, residents have access to a wide array of resources they'll need to develop their ideas and accomplish project objectives, including:

  • Research and quality improvement training through CITI Program
  • Dedicated Pediatric Research staff
  • Electronic library resources
  • Ongoing support from faculty mentors and peers

By the end of their final year, have opportunities to share their findings through research presentations and journal publications. See examples of resident projects and awards from our program.
