How We Serve You

• 70% of our pediatric residency graduates become pediatricians in Kansas.
• We focus on areas of need specifically for Kansas kids, like mental health.
• We have the only infant mortality research center in Kansas, and it's located in Wichita.
• We are the largest pediatric faculty employed in Kansas and our department is the academic home for approximately 100 physicians representing more than 25 pediatric medical and surgical specialties.
• In Wichita, we have the region's only specialists in pulmonary, metabolic genetics, child abuse, infectious disease, adolescent medicine, hematology/oncology and child development.
• We collaborate with more than 30 local, regional and national partners aligned with our mission.

Reese's Story

"Our daughter, Reese, was diagnosed with Very High Risk pre-B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia the day before her fourth birthday. Reese started chemotherapy with Dr. Hall and his team at Wesley Children's Hospital. She did not get into remission after two cycles of chemo, which meant she would need a bone marrow transplant. They used a newer medication (immunotherapy) that no one else in Wichita has used and it got her into remission. She was then able to go to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for her bone marrow transplant. Since Children's Mercy knew what detailed care she would receive in Wichita, they released her quickly after her transplant. Reese is receiving exceptional care in Wichita, so our trips to Kansas City have been few and far between. We are blessed to be able to spend time together at home instead of on the road."
