Curriculum

PGY-1 Year: Obstetric and primary care focus
- 6 months of service (blank boxes in schedule above)
- Rotating between Wesley Medical Center's Labor and Delivery, working at Wesley Women's Care Clinic and surgery
- 2 months of night call (NC)
- 1 month of Obstetric ED (OBED) triage on Labor and Delivery
- 1 month of emergency medicine (ED)
- 1 month of Newton Medical Center rural (NEWTON)
- 1 month Hunter Health Clinic-FQHC and sonography (HHC/SONO)
PGY-2 Year: Ambulatory care and gynecological surgery focus
- 7 months of service (blank boxes plus MFM/ONC backup)
- Rotating between second-year day call (ED pages/admissions, Birth Care Center patients and admissions/consultations throughout the hospital), working at Wesley Women's Care Clinic and surgery
- 3 service months include maternal fetal medicine and gynecology oncology backup for the PGY3
- 2 months of night call (NC)
- 1 month of urogynecology (URO)
- 1 month of Family Planning (FP)
- 1 month of sonography (SONO)
PGY-3 Year: Subspecialty focus
- 3 months of maternal fetal medicine (MFM)
- 3 months of gynecology oncology (ONC)
- 2 months of reproductive endocrinology (REI)
- 2 months of surgery (SUR/ELE) (1 possible elective month)
- 1 month of urogynecology (URO)
- 1 month of senior night call (NC)
PGY-4 Year: Chief experience
- 9 months of service (blank boxes in schedule above - can be in conjunction with Chief rotation responsibilities)
- 3 months as chief resident - administrative role, prepares daily schedule, coordination between staff and residents (C)
- Supervise PGY1 and PGY2, MFM consultations and transports
- Serve as "attendings" on WWC and HHC patients, and they comanage WCUA patients with the laborist
- Assist second-year resident on hospital consults and emergent GYN cases
- 1 month of outpatient gynecology (GYN)
- 1 month of breast clinic and family planning (B/FP)
- 1 month of senior night call (NC)
Clinic Teams:
One resident from each class creates the five teams: Purple, Green, Yellow, Red, Blue.
