KU School of Medicine-Wichita OB-GYN Residency Program Application Process

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita OB-GYN Residency Program recruits six PGY-1 positions per academic year.
We will be following the CREOG/APGO specialty-wide standards for the residency application and interview process. More information and a FAQ about the standards can be found here. Our program participates in the ResidencyCAS. Applications are accepted by electronic filing only.
We will follow the APGO and CREOG revised timeline for the 2025-2026 application cycle:

All application materials must be submitted by September 25, 2025.
- ResidencyCAS application and CV*
- Personal statement*
- USMLE Step I or COMLEX Level 1 results*
- USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge or COMLEX Level 2 results*
- Medical school transcripts
- Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a member of your medical school's obstetrics and gynecology department
- SLOE - Can replace one of the above letters of recommendation
- MSPE Letter
*Denotes items that must be received before an application will be reviewed.
Applicants are reviewed based on academic record, professional background, personal qualities, recommendations and interviews. The rank list is reviewed in a meeting that includes faculty and residents prior to its submission to the NRMP.
The Interview
Invitations are extended via ResidencyCAS. Candidates selected for interviews will have an opportunity to virtually meet with faculty, residents and staff on their interview day.

Our program will adhere to policies set forth by our institution and current guidelines from CREOG/APGO.
There is no minimum score. We do require a passing score on Step 1 and Step 2, or Complex Level 1 and Complex Level 2 to be ranked.
We assess each individual based on their own merits with no policy excluding D.O. applicants.
