Internal Medicine residents at KU School of Medicine-Wichita unwind with several fun events throughout the year. 

Orientation Welcome Party

This is the best way to meet the newest additions to the resident family. It’s a great opportunity for incoming residents and their families to mingle with colleagues and attendings.

Leg Wrestling

An Internal Medicine tradition for more than 35 years, residents and faculty celebrate at Dr. Donna Sweet's house and compete against each other in a leg wrestling tournament. Winners get a trophy and bragging rights for the year.

Graduation Party

Graduates receive diplomas and residents from all PGY levels may receive awards at this dinner and reception. The coveted "Chalice of Champions" clinic award is given to the most outstanding clinic group. The evening ends with an after-party organized by the graduating class. 

Wellness Events

Residents, faculty and staff all gather multiple times a year for wellness events where they are invited to bring their families to socialize and have a great time.
