Fellows will devote at least six months of their three-year gastroenterology fellowship training to research and scholarly activity through the Gastroenterology Fellowship Research Curriculum, starting during their PGY 4 year of training.

Three phases

• The Preparatory Phase
  • Fellows identify a general topic/research stream they are interested in, identify a potential mentor and complete HIPAA/CITI training certification.
• The Investigatory Phase
  • Fellows will work toward data collection as well as early/interim data analysis and interpretation.
• The Synthesis Phase
  • Fellows focus on data analysis and interpretation and begin to synthesize their data for presentation.
