KU School of Medicine-Wichita General Surgery Residency offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that provides you with a diverse set of clinical experiences, rotations and conferences opportunities, including Grand Rounds as well as Journal and Textbook clubs.
Our specially tailored Surgical Skills Lab develops the needed skills as you move through your academic career. Our comprehensive curriculum prepares you to succeed in a variety of health care settings after graduation.
Resident training primarily takes place at three major hospitals: Ascension Via Christi, Wesley Medical Center and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, all within a five-mile radius. In addition to the three major hospitals, residents operate in the ambulatory surgery centers; evaluate patients in the hospital clinics and private offices.
