Application Process
How to Apply
The KU School of Medicine-Wichita General Surgery Residency program accepts seven PGY-1 categorical residents each year. There is currently a total of 36 residents in this columnar program, seven at each level, PGY 1-5. We also have one PGY-1 preliminary resident.
For the 2025 ERAS® cycle, our program encourages all applicants to complete a supplemental ERAS application, offered through the AAMC's ERAS program. We accept applications only via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) from the Association of American Medical Colleges and applicants also will be required to complete the MyERAS application.
The additional information will help our program staff learn more about applicants' medical education journey, including more meaningful information about work, volunteer and research experiences, and help us better identify applicants who fit our program environment and mission.
Application deadline is Nov. 1, 2024. First round of interview invitations will be sent out on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Applications must contain the following to be considered:
- ERAS Application
