During the interview process, I learned about the Anesthesiology Residency Commandments that this program created, and these resonated deeply with what I value and the kind of physician I wanted to be. Moreover, the comfort and hardworking nature of Dr. James Walker, our program director, made me feel confident in his mentorship. His dedication to guiding residents to achieve their fullest potential assures me that he is the mentor I need to reach my career aspirations. Strong didactics, strong leadership and kind, respectful, hardworking residents. I am just starting residency and already know I would not want to be anywhere else.

It was after my interview and a subsequent in-person visit with the program that I realized that the people the program is comprised of truly make this a special place and that training at this institution would provide an exceptional foundation for my career both clinically and professionally.

Not to mention that everyone in the Midwest is so nice. It makes me feel like I am back home in Canada.
