Terms and Conditions Related to Unclassified Staff Appointments

All unclassified professional staff appointments are subject to all applicable laws, regulations, policies, minutes and resolutions of the State of Kansas, the Board of Regents and the University of Kansas. Each year, an unclassified appointment begins on July 1 and expires on June 30.

Any portion of your salary that is funded by restricted funds, grants, funds contingent upon grants or endowed funds from any source, is subject to the availability of those funds. In the event the funding source is decreased or terminated, your salary may be reduced. Should the preponderance of your salary be supported by funds whose availability ends, termination of such support provides a bona fide cause for termination of the appointment at that time. Regardless of funding source, your salary and/or appointment percentage may be reduced or you may be subject to furlough during budgetary reductions.
