Two KU School of Medicine-Wichita faculty members honored for 40 years of service to Kansas
Donna Sweet, M.D., and K. James Kallail, Ph.D., were recognized during a special event in Topeka.

They're already well-known among many in the fields of research and medicine, but recently two KU School of Medicine-Wichita faculty members were honored for 40 years of service to the state of Kansas.
Donna Sweet, M.D., professor in our Department of Internal Medicine and medical director of KU Wichita Internal Medicine Midtown, was honored during a recognition ceremony March 30 in Topeka, where Governor Laura Kelly presented Dr. Sweet with a certificate of achievement. A KU School of Medicine-Wichita alumna, Dr. Sweet joined our faculty in 1982.
K. James Kallail, Ph.D., associate dean for research at KU School of Medicine-Wichita, professor and associate chair for research in the Department of Internal Medicine, was also recognized in the program for the ceremony. Dr. Kallail started his career with the state of Kansas at Kansas State University in 1982 and began working at KU School of Medicine-Wichita in 1987 in the Department of Family & Community Medicine.
Congratulations to Dr. Sweet and Dr. Kallail!
