One Day One KU logoThanks to our champions, more than $225,000 was raised for KU School of Medicine-Wichita on the fourth annual One Day. One KU. day of giving Thursday, Feb. 18.

Although dollars are still being counted and numbers still being calculated, nearly 200 gifts were received to benefit students, residents, faculty and operations in multiple departments, including Internal Medicine, Family & Community Medicine, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, General Surgery, OB-GYN, Radiology, Anesthesiology and Pediatrics.

We do know that all three of our matching funds were met: The $1,000 McKnight Fund match by Rachel Brown, MBBS, chair, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences; the $5,000 Wichita OB-GYN match from David Grainger, M.D., MPH, chair, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Kent Bradley, M.D., OB-GYN clinical associate professor; and the Donna Sweet, M.D., Internal Medicine Fund anonymous $25,000 match.

We are appreciative of the generosity of our community and our friends, near and far. We asked for your help, and you answered the call. Whether you made a direct contribution, dropped off a check, renewed your payroll deduction or just helped share our message, we are truly grateful for your support.

The day was inspirational, and its effects can continue throughout the year. Even though the date has passed, it's never too late to give to your passion and support future physicians of Kansas.
