Sixth annual One Day. One KU. puts collective giving over $1M for KU School of Medicine-Wichita
Generous donors support the Wichita campus in educating future health care leaders, building healthy communities and making new discoveries

Preliminary numbers are in, and during One Day. One KU. on Feb. 16, KU School of Medicine-Wichita raised $207,667 for various programs and initiatives throughout the school.
This was the sixth annual One Day. One KU., so that makes the six day-long fundraising events total more than $1 million from nearly 1,000 gifts for KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
During this 24-hour day of giving, 191 gifts were documented, placing KU School of Medicine-Wichita at No. 10 in the number of gifts received out of 47 KU entities participating. All five KU Wichita matching gifts were completed, doubling $51,000 worth of donors’ gifts.
In addition to supporting the preferences of individual donors, contributions to KU Wichita through One Day. One KU. will provide scholarships; enhance OB-GYN resident educational experiences and the medical student interest group; support the Wichita Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship; heighten anesthesiology residents’ training; and honor the legacy of Donna Sweet, M.D., by supporting resident education in HIV, infectious disease and primary care medicine.
Overall, KU entities combined raised $3,219,345 from 4,743 gifts during the 2023 One Day. One KU.
None of this would have been possible without generous donors, who support KU School of Medicine-Wichita in educating future health care leaders, building healthy communities and making new discoveries.
