The awards from the Wichita Business Journal spotlight outstanding professionals in health care.

Several KU School of Medicine-Wichita faculty members and alumni have been honored as outstanding professionals in health care through the Wichita Business Journal's Excellence in Health Care series.

The Excellence in Health Care awards recognize medical professionals who have distinguished themselves as leaders, teachers and experts in health care. Award winners include doctors, nurses, administrators and more who have had a broad and positive impact in the Wichita area.

For five years the Wichita Business Journal has been recognizing excellence in health care. This month's honorees include the following, who are affiliated with KU School of Medicine-Wichita:

  • Kent Bradley, M.D., student alumnus, resident alumnus, clinical professor, OB-GYN
  • Julie de la Garza, clinical research coordinator, Medical Practice Association, Pediatrics
  • Georges Elhomsy, M.D., resident alumnus, volunteer clinical associate professor, Internal Medicine
  • Christopher Halphen, D.O., volunteer clinical instructor, Orthopaedics
  • Mark Niederee, M.D., student alumnus, resident alumnus, volunteer clinical assistant professor, Surgery
