Donna Logan, M.D., volunteer clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at KU School of Medicine-Wichita, has been selected as the 2022 National AAFP Exemplary Teacher of the Year in the volunteer category. Logan is the 16th physician from KU School of Medicine-Wichita to earn the National AAFP Exemplary Teacher of the Year award.

Reflecting on her 27 years of precepting, Logan said, “It has been my privilege to serve as a volunteer faculty member and host third-year medical students in my office. It’s a joy to share the breadth and depth of family medicine with students. I receive insight from the students and they help me stay up to date. Hopefully, I have imparted some clinical knowledge but, more so, I hope I have taught them that the care of the family is more than just a science, it is an art.”

Logan practices at Hillside Medical Office. She is a 1991 graduate of KU School of Medicine-Wichita and a 1994 graduate of KUSM-W Family Medicine Residency Program at Wesley Medical Center.
