Upcoming educational conferences relevent to the Vascular Surgery Fellowship program
Conference Schedule
- Core Curriculum: This weekly conference will incorporate basic and clinical science didactic lectures utilizing multiple sources including Rutherford Vascular Surgery text. The content will be presented by faculty members and fellows on a pre-determined schedule.
- Morbidity and Mortality Conference: This conference will cover a standard M&M format discussing cases in a constructive manner for quality improvement.
- Vascular Journal Club: This quarterly conference will discuss landmark vascular papers as well as current topics in vascular surgery journals.
- Vascular and Aortic Case Conference: This is an alternating multidisciplinary conference with contributions from Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular Medicine and other specialties.
- Surgery Grand Rounds: Department of Surgery lectures on varying topics provided by visiting professors, faculty, residents, and fellows.
- Kansas City Vascular Surgery Society: This is a quarterly gathering of the vascular surgery groups in Kansas City. The format can vary from case presentations and discussions to guest lectures. Typically hosted at nice restaurant in area.
- Aortic Case Planning: This will be incorporated into the training curriculum for the specific purpose of complex aortic case planning. Physician modified endografts (PMEG), acute/chronic dissections, and other aortic pathologies will be planned with direction of our skilled faculty utilizing 3D modeling software.
