The Division of Acute Care Surgery and the Department of Surgery combine to provide a robust infrastructure to support fellow research activities. A dedicated research program manager aids in meeting regulatory requirements (i.e., IRB approval) and gives guidance from project conception to completion. 24/7/365 research assistant coverage provides the ability to enroll patients in clinical studies and assistance in retrospective data reviews. Medical writing and on-demand statistical support are available to all fellows to aid in IRB submission, abstract and manuscript preparation, and grant writing for fellows aiming for a future career as a surgeon-investigator.
