Message from the Director

Hello! I am delighted to tell you all about University of Kansas and our Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship. We are a modern program with a keen focus on the surgeon’s role as part of a strong multidisciplinary breast cancer program. Our goal, first and foremost, is to train exceptionally skilled surgeons and provide you the framework to develop as the next leaders in breast surgical oncology. Reflective of this goal, our fellowship offers one of the most robust surgical experiences for all SSO-accredited programs with approximately 7 months on breast surgical oncology and 1 month with plastic and reconstructive surgery (approximately 8 operative months total).

We have devoted, accomplished and enthusiastic faculty who are committed to education as well as excellence in patient care. We come from diverse training programs and practice backgrounds so you will have mentoring in all areas of future practice. We have a strong clinical research program that allows us to ensure we are continually evaluating the latest literature and providing leading-edge evidence-based care to our breast cancer patients across Kansas City and the state of Kansas.

Choosing a fellowship is an important decision, and I can assure you that our team does not take that lightly. I appreciate you considering our program for your fellowship and look forward to meeting you during the application process.
